Sayulita: Day 3

Caroline is happy to start another day in Sayulita.

Then we walked down the hill to Casa Del Gallo, where Aunt She-She is living for the week.

Jamie is enjoying the lunch he made with a nice, cold Corona.

Jason and Jamie played in the waves like they were 10-year-old boys all day long.

So did the girls!

Sara enjoyed the sunshine!

If there is anything Kate loves better than the ocean, it's horses!

Eliza is like her mother when it comes to music...MUST HAVE IT!

I waved down a woman selling home-made tamales out of a cooler on the beach. They have made it to my top three things I've ever eaten list!

Then we met a nice man from Sisters, Oregon named Paul Stark. He starting building a sand sculpture and Eliza jumped in to help. They worked on it for two or three hours. Turns out, Paul Stark is a very well known and very successful wood sculptor.

Aunt She-She hardly ever gets a rest form the girls!

Another great day!

Sayulita Day 2: Rainy Day

It rained all day our second day in Sayulita, so we spent most of it walking around, checking out the town. We are all in love with this place.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE rainbows! I especially love double rainbows! I tried several different camera settings to try and capture this beauty at sunset. I still need to play with these images some more, but here is a start.

Caroline spotted an enormous moth and a few geckos on the ceiling of the veranda and set out to catch them with the pool net.

This moth was about the size of a bird!
She finally caught the gecko...it had already lost its tail.

Sayulita, Day 1 (I'm in Heaven!)

We got up at 4:30 a.m. and got on the plane. Here are Caroline and Kate trying to keep still while being SO EXCITED!

After landing in Puerto Vallarta and grabbing our Suburban, we had our driver stop at Mega so we could get some essentials to have at the house. Jamie made the grocery list while I slept on the plane. When I woke up, I asked him what was on the list. He said, "Coffee and beer." (pause...dead pan:) "Do we need anything else?" (hahahaha)

Aaaahhhhh...we made it to Casa de la Vida in Sayulita. This is our home for 8 days. This is my personal Heaven.

Our housekeeper, Azucena, brought her daughter, Tonia, with her when she came to make chili rellenos for us Friday night (which were amazing!). Caroline doesn't speak a word of Spanish and Tonia doesn't speak a word of English, but they managed to play hide-and-seek and many other games with no problem at all. They even hugged each other when Tonia had to leave and they made plans to play again the next day. PRECIOUS!

In this picture, Caroline had shown Tonia the Spanish-English dictionary. They both decided it was more trouble than it was worth!
