ArtFest 2012

I recently returned from Port Townsend, Washington, where I attended Art Fest for my second time. I made new art and new friends, and what is better than that?

Here are some of the pieces I made:

I did this piece in Sunny Carvahlo's class "Story Pieces."

These two were done in Erin Faith Allen's Class "Soul Portrait Empowerment."

This pitiful looking thing was done in Michelle Allen's class "Dolls and Dudes."

Sayulita: Day 6

Our rental golf cart!

Pop and I rode on the back!

Later the girls took a ride.

I surfed for a while. Caught some bigger waves. Got beat up. Had fun anyway.

Sayulita: Day 5

We had breakfast at a coffee/pastry shop.

What a funky little town! Happy Valentine's Day!

Get a load of the size of this margarita!
Jamie and I just hooted laughing when they brought it out!
Are you kidding? You could swim in it!

Then we met Pasquala and her daughter Alicia and son and baby (whose names I couldn't get with the language barrier and all). We bought many of her folk animals she makes from burlap and felt. We gave her about $1500 pesos, which will probably feed her family for a month. They were so sweet.

And look....I'M TALL!

This family really had to tunes going!

I really love this place.

Sayulita: Day 4

Today is the day I have decided to give surfing a try.
My instructor is an adorable 17-year-old named Luar.

First try...

WIPE OUT!
This is the life.
A girl just can't help it that her drawers come down when she's surfing!
I'll remember to wear shorts tomorrow!

Meanwhile, back at Casa del Gallo...

The whole gang!

We learned to salsa and danced to a 7-piece Cuban band at Don Pedro's! SO FUN!
